When using this site, you will be asked only for your email address, sex, age, and the city, province, and country you are living in.  The email address is necessary for you to access your SCIT reports in the future.  Age, sex, and your general physical location are used anonymously in order that we can provide the necessary statistical analysis for the SCIT.  Provided you do not use your real name in your email address or in the discussion area and do not disclose your password, nobody can access your information.  Even we at Prosocial Science do not know who you are.  When choosing a username, avoid using any identifiable information.

We take the protection of your information and SCIT responses very seriously. You will note that we do not require your name or street address at any time.  We protect any of the information you provide against loss and theft as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification using security safeguards, including physical and organizational measures.  

We will not sell or share your information with any other person or business entity.

Except as otherwise expressly described in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of the information we collect from you. To the extent that you disclose your information to other parties, whether they are in our discussion area (including links to third party sites) or on other sites throughout the Internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. To the extent that we use third party advertisers or have third party e-commerce partners, they adhere to their own privacy policies. Since we do not control the privacy policies of any third parties, you should investigate their policies before you disclose any personally identifiable information to them.

No data security measures can guarantee 100% security. Your email address should not contain your real name. You should also take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password, telephone, or any other communication device, and you should ensure that you sign off after using a shared computer.  Choose a suitably secure password that is known only to you.  Do NOT share your password.  Do not use an email address linked to the company you work for, as they may store all of your emails.

Note:  If you wish, you may add an SMS verification method to your login procedure by going into your profile settings page and enabling “SMS Verification”.

We are not responsible for any lost; stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity.

User Generated Content

You may post content in the discussion forum, including your comments and information regarding helpful non-commercial sites related to health and well being.  Messages containing links to other sites may be deleted without notice, as unethical sites often abuse services such as our Forum.  We cannot prevent the content you post or share in our discussion area or Services from being used by other entities in a manner that may violate your personal privacy, or from being shared or disclosed by other users.  Do not use your real name or provide links to other sites in your posts.  Comments that include links to sites that we deem to be ineligible or inappropriate may be deleted without warning.

When YOU Share Your SCIT Results

You may choose to share your SCIT results with your partner, a prospective partner, your doctor, therapist or consultant.  If you do so, you recognize that Prosocial Science has no responsibility for how that information is used.  We recognize that the SCIT may be of tremendous benefit to you to share with select individuals, but you must make sure that they are trustworthy; and if they are professionals, ensure that they are bound by suitable confidentiality laws.  Again, Prosocial Science is not liable for any improper use of information you provide to a third party.

Disclosure

Certain advertisements from third party businesses may appear in some areas of the site.  Prosocial Science may receive a commission for any sales made by the user when using those links.  Of course, we encourage you to visit any of those sites that you find interesting, and would appreciate the opportunity to earn a commission.  Any information you provide to these third parties are subject to their privacy policies, and by using this site you acknowledge that Prosocial Science cannot control their use of the information.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is current as of May 30, 2023. If we intend to change any part of this policy, all users will be notified 30 days in advance.  Such a change will not alter any facet of the policies agreed to prior to the notification date.
